The counter is the shop

We sell wool beds, leather leads, slow bowls, and nail clippers from the counter. We do not ship. We do not take payment on the website. The desk form is not an order, not a receipt, and not a hold. A hold happens when you call during open hours and we say the item is behind the bench until the next day we are open.

Prices and tax

Prices on the goods pages are the counter prices in US dollars, before sales tax. If a shelf tag disagrees with the website, the shelf tag is the price that day. Sales tax is added at the counter. We take cash and cards in the shop.

Returns and repairs

Bring goods back within 14 days with the receipt. We take back a bed, a lead, a bowl, or a clipper that has not been used. Once a bed has been slept on, a lead has been out in the wet, a bowl has been eaten from, or a blade seal is open, we do not take it back. If a stitch opens on a lead we sold, under ordinary walking, we resew that fold. If the base ring on a bowl comes off within 30 days, we replace the bowl. A lead that has been chewed through is not a defect. Ordinary wear on a hinge after years of salt is not a defect. We will say which is which before we take money for a repair we did not promise.

Not a clinic

Nothing on this website is veterinary advice, a diagnosis, or an offer to treat an animal. A slow bowl does not treat bloat. A clipper is a tool you use yourself. We do not groom, and we do not clip nails in the shop. If an animal is hurt or sick, call a veterinarian.

Use of the goods

You are responsible for fitting a lead to your dog and for clipping nails yourself. A lead can break if it is chewed. A bowl can be shoved across a floor. A clipper can nick the quick. Inspect the goods before you leave the shop. We are not liable for injury to a person or an animal from the use of goods sold, except where New York law does not allow that limit.

The website text

The words and the mark on this site belong to Whisker Hollow. Do not copy them onto another shop. The pages describe our counter. They are not a promise that every size is on the bench on the day you arrive. Call first if you are making a trip for one item.

Law

New York law governs these terms. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Tompkins County, New York, unless a law says a particular claim has to be heard somewhere else. If one line of these terms is not enforceable, the rest still stands.
